NATIONAL JUNIOR COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Community colleges that join the NJCAA are placed into one of the twenty-four regions throughout the United States upon becoming a member of the association. Typically, each team is guaranteed a membership based on geographic location. Each region has a specific set of rules and regulations, which they can make adjustments as they see fit as long as they do not go against the NJCAA constitution and bylaws. About the Organization
This organization started in 1962, but was known as the Springfield and Clark County Technical Education Program, which offered technical training to those living in Springfield, Ohio, and surrounding areas. Four years later, they changed their name to Clark County Technical Institute and were sanctioned by the Ohio Board of Regents. Since their inception, they have grown quickly, which allowed the organization to expand to offer courses that could be transferred to four-year institutions. Then in 1988, it became known as Clark State Community College.
Currently, the school offers the following sports: men's and women's basketball, Women's Volleyball, Softball, and Baseball. Although the school does not have many opportunities for sports, they are looking into adding to their sports programs by offering other competitive sports in the future, such as hockey, wrestling, cross country, bowling, and eSports.
